Human Design splits humanity into five distinct types based on the definition of your Sacral center and the specific connections between your defined centers. The type determines your Strategy — how to engage with life in a way that produces the least resistance — and your Not-Self Theme, the emotion that signals you've gone off-track.
No type is better than another. That's not a diplomatic statement — it's mechanical. The planet needs all five. Equally.

Generators are the most common type — the world's builders and doers. Their Sacral center hums with raw, sustainable energy, but only for the right things. When a Generator ignores their gut "uh-huh" and chases what they think they should want? Frustration creeps in. The strategy is deceptively simple: wait for something to respond to, then let the body speak first.
Manifesting Generators — MGs, as the community calls them — are a kind of hybrid. They have the Generator's Sacral power and the Manifestor's ability to initiate and skip steps. Fast, multi-passionate, and often told to pick a lane: the thing is, they're not built for one lane. They're built for several, simultaneously, at speed.
Projectors see people — really see them — in a way most types simply can't. They're built to guide, direct, and optimize. But — and this is the hard part — they need to be recognized and invited first. Pushing without an invitation drains them and breeds bitterness. Waiting feels counterintuitive in a culture that rewards relentless initiative. That tension is the Projector's central initiation.
Manifestors are the only type truly built to initiate — to act without waiting for a response or an invitation. They're rare (roughly 9% of people) and carry a closed, repelling aura that makes others feel slightly off-balance around them. Not a flaw. A feature. The strategy — inform before acting — exists to smooth the wake they inevitably create as they move.
Reflectors are the rarest of all — roughly 1% of humanity — and they're built entirely differently from everyone else. No defined centers. Their aura samples the energy of the people around them, amplifying and reflecting back the health (or dysfunction) of their community. They're here to evaluate life, not create it. And they need a full 28-day lunar cycle before making any major decision.
