§ 1 Overview
Aurastrology.com is a privacy-first platform built on a simple principle: you should be able to explore astrology, tarot, human design, and numerology without surrendering your personal information to do so.
This Privacy Policy explains what little data we do encounter during your visit, how we handle it, and the rights you have over it. By using this Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
§ 2 Information We Collect
Data you voluntarily provide: When you use our calculators (e.g., birth chart, rising sign), you may enter your birth date, time, and location. This data is processed transiently on our servers to return your results and is immediately discarded. It is never written to a database, never associated with your identity, and never retained after your session ends.
If you contact us via our Contact page, we receive your name, email address, and message content. This is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Data collected automatically: Like virtually every website, our servers log standard technical information when you visit:
- Your IP address (used temporarily for security rate-limiting and then discarded)
- Browser type and version
- The URL you requested and the HTTP status code returned
- Date and time of the request
- Referring URL (the page that linked you to us)
This data is stored in standard web server log files for a short period (typically 14 days) for the purpose of identifying technical errors and blocking malicious access patterns. It is not used for advertising.
§ 3 How We Use Your Data
We use the limited data we receive exclusively to:
- Perform the astrological, tarot, or numerological calculation you requested
- Respond to messages you send through our Contact page
- Diagnose server errors and ensure the Site functions correctly
- Protect the Site from spam, bot traffic, and security attacks
- Understand aggregate (non-personal) trends in which tools are used most
We will never use your data for targeted advertising, user profiling, or any purpose not described in this policy.
§ 5 Third-Party Services
We may use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate the Site:
- Hosting & CDN: Our server infrastructure provider processes your requests as part of normal hosting operations. They are bound by their own strict data processing agreements.
- Analytics (if applicable): If we use an analytics tool, it is configured with IP anonymization and does not create individual user profiles. We prefer privacy-focused solutions (e.g., aggregate pageview counters).
- Fonts: We may load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may receive your IP when loading these resources. You can block this through your browser or extension settings.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for their own marketing purposes. Period.
§ 6 Data Retention
We operate on a minimal retention principle:
- Calculator inputs: Never stored beyond the single server request cycle.
- Server logs: Retained for approximately 14 days, then automatically purged.
- Contact form messages: Retained in our email inbox for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, typically no longer than 12 months.
§ 7 Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under applicable data protection law (including GDPR for EU/EEA residents and CCPA for California residents):
- Right of access: You may request confirmation of whether we hold personal data about you.
- Right to erasure: You may request deletion of any personal data we hold about you.
- Right to data portability: You may request a copy of any data we hold about you in a portable format.
- Right to object: You may object to the processing of your personal data.
Given our minimal data collection practices, fulfilling most of these requests is simple. To make a request, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
Important note for EU/EEA users: Because we do not store birth data or create user profiles, the vast majority of the data you enter on this Site never constitutes "personal data" in the legal sense — it is transient calculator input that is discarded before it could ever be stored.
§ 8 Children's Privacy
Our Site is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information through our Contact form, please contact us and we will delete it immediately.
§ 9 Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make material changes, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Because we do not maintain an email subscriber list, it is your responsibility to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
§ 10 Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy, please use our Contact page. We take privacy inquiries seriously and will respond personally.
